World Athletics president Sebastian Coe says Nairobi, Kenya, hosting the 2029 World Championships should leave Africa a new facility and expertise. The event covers 46 disciplines, lasts more than nine days and expects 2,000 athletes, while more than 140 Kenyan athletes have been suspended for doping since 2017.
