Hurricane Isaias strengthened to 110 miles per hour as hurricane and storm-surge warnings took effect along the northern Gulf Coast, with emergencies declared in more than 70 counties across Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said officials were preparing for a possible Category 3 landfall.
