Germany arrested former BND chief August Hanning on espionage and attempted-treason charges. Prosecutors allege he passed classified information to foreign contacts with help from former chief of staff Manfred W., who allegedly supplied more than 2,000 documents for payment. Prosecutors have not identified the foreign agencies, and Hanning’s lawyers declined comment.
