Residents along the Gulf Coast boarded windows and stocked bottled water as Hurricane Isaias intensified toward a possible Friday landfall in southern Alabama or the Florida Panhandle. Isaias became the Atlantic season’s first hurricane and could become the first to hit the mainland U.S. since Hurricane Milton in 2024.
