Anonymous donor who told everyone
At the ribbon-cutting, Larry's soon-to-be ex-wife, Cheryl, lets slip who the anonymous donor is. Ted paid for the whole wing and didn't want anybody to know.
Larry points out that Ted told her, so he apparently wanted somebody to know. He asks who else Ted told, and how Cheryl can be sure she was the only one.
Cheryl insists Ted doesn't need the fanfare and can tell a few people without the whole world knowing. Larry bristles at the word fanfare and asks whether she is saying he likes it.
Then he gets to his real complaint: he didn't need the world to know either. Nobody told him he could be anonymous and tell people, and he would have taken that option.
