Hillary promised the UFO files

John Podesta greenlit an acclimatization activity, a popularization effort to prep the battle space before the 2016 election. That is how Tom DeLonge, a rock star with the touch of the youth, ended up with advisors like General McCaslin and Robert Weiss at Lockheed, both of whom show up in WikiLeaks. They had top cover to treat him as a public figure.

Jim Clapper and some other people provided that cover. The effort was an inside job to prepare the ground for Hillary Clinton, who had publicly promised to release the files if elected. She lost, the activity pivoted, and the original TTSA effort collapsed.

Politics runs through all of it. A president can use the topic for political ends, and a threshold announcement ahead of the midterms or the 2028 cycle would carry that too.

What did Podesta say about UFO files?

John Podesta, a longtime advocate of declassifying government UFO files, said in February 2015 as he left his White House post that failing to secure the release of those files was one of his biggest regrets. He later became chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign. Podesta had also written the foreword to a 2002 book by Leslie Kean urging disclosure.

How did DeLonge's emails become public?

WikiLeaks published thousands of John Podesta's emails in October and November 2016 after they were obtained in a hack of his account. The messages included exchanges with Tom DeLonge, the former Blink-182 guitarist, about UFO topics. DeLonge went on to co-found To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science in October 2017. The U.S. intelligence community attributed the hack to Russian operatives.
