The monolith is a book

The parody was written by Dick DeBertolo and drawn by Mort Drucker, and it takes the film apart on every level. All through the story, the characters keep wondering what the monolith is.

In the last scene they finally ask it directly. The monolith answers that nobody asked it before, and then it announces that it is a book. It opens up, and the title inside is How to Make an Incomprehensible Movie and Several Million Dollars by Stanley Kubrick.
